Water where it should not be is stressful. Call (08) 9276 7671 during opening hours, tell us what is happening and we will talk you through the first steps. Our hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 7am to 1pm. We are closed on Sundays.
What counts as a plumbing emergency
- A burst or split pipe
- A leak you cannot stop, or water coming through a ceiling
- An overflowing toilet or drain, or sewage backing up
- A gas smell: leave the area, do not use switches or flames, and call the gas emergency line (ATCO Gas on 13 13 52 for natural gas) from a safe place. Call 000 if anyone is in danger.
What to do while you wait
- Turn off the water at the main stop tap, usually near the water meter at the front of the property.
- If water is near power points or lights, switch off at the switchboard only if it is safe to reach.
- Move belongings out of the way and open doors or windows to let moisture out.
- Take photos for your insurer.
What we do when we arrive
We find the source, stop the water, make the area safe and explain the repair options before we start.
